You
may see flashing horizontal flows... The illusion of flows
occurs when we look at certain pattern containing contrasting
colors. The effect is mainly due to the lateral inhibition of
our visual system.
Now,
if
you scroll the page down and up fast, the colors within
the picture will blend and scintillate making blurred lilac
(or magenta) spots appear!
This
pattern called 'lumachine' (little snails, in
Italian) was designed by G. Sarcone for a wall-paper producer.
